7.28-31: How Martha Were You?

How Martha Were You?

Friday Night-

Price and I left work a tad bit early to beat some traffic out of Boston. Off we were to Greenwich/NY…

While on the way down, I called for some Chinese takeout from one of my favorite places. Well… I had only ordered ‘Salt & Pepper Shrimp’ (not on menu) once before and my dad paid, so I nearly flipped out when my din din came to $22. HOLY CRAP. all other shrimp dishes were $9-$13. I was too speechless when I found out to really figure it out but $22 DAMN!!!!

caught up with mom and then went to bed since we were getting up early on Saturday

Saturday-

5.15 alarm. oh Saturday morning please just piss off…

Price and I were on a 6.16am train into The City

We headed over to Rock Center to see the taping of the Today Show. Price got to meet Linny!

We walked down 5th to 23rd and headed to the West Side, we stopped for breakfast at La Maison du Macaron, based upon a recommendation.

Then we continued walking and grabbed a donut from Doughnut Plant. I could not pass up a Peanut Butter and Jelly Donut!

Passing a working fire on 23rd we continued on to The Highline

We strolled around The Highline. We even got a shaved ice.

We headed back along 23rd St so we could stop in Eataly. I was in love, but also being tourtured with all the pasta, bread, and pizza. Damn you gluten!

Heading just outside, we went to Shake Shack for lunch.

We saw a couple get married, well Price saw the vows and I saw the post wedding photos.

We walked up 5th to head back to Grand Central (I love the Empire State Building!)

Price got some shaving stuff from the Art of Shaving in Grand Central and then we were on a train back to Port Chester.

Price and I stopped off at a liquor store to get some vino for dinner at my brother’s

Back home we relaxed for a bit, saw my grandmother

Price and I beat Laura home from the boat, I got to play with a nakie Cara before she had dinner and got ready for bed.

Dinner with TJ and Laura- great, funny, casual, amazing. It has been such a long time since TJ and I hung out and caught up, so funny to see how we are alike.

Sunday-

We kinda slept in. Mac is a barker… damn dog.

Mom and I looked into flights and hotels to go to Spark: The Event in Utah in Oct

Price and I helped mom hang up photos in the house on the stairs and in her room

We were on the road shortly before noon

Late lunch/early dinner at Corey’s Catsup and Mustard

Before we got home we stopped at Lowe’s and Home Depot

scored my highest yet in Yahtzee!!!!

Price and I watched the race while I went through old magazines and cut out recipes

7.8-10: How Martha Were You?

How Martha Were You?

I finally felt in sync with the kitchen. There are lots of changes to get used to… smaller layout, less counter space, a window allowing natural light in, a gas stove, etc. I finally got to spend the weekend cooking and prepping for the week. I was so excited to borrow Olena’s lens that I felt the need to cook even more so I would be able to prepare a lot of blog posts because I would have plenty of photos.

The apartment is coming along. Every time I feel we make progress we uncover more stuff to be done. I am enjoying the process but it makes me want to throw everything out. I know I would not do that and would regret it but I have too much damn stuff for my own good.

Friday Night-

Spotted this guy on the T… Man this guy sure loves Apple!

Stopped off for some beer on our way home.

Went food shopping at Whole Foods, went for a few things and ending up spending $80. damn you WF!!

Enjoyed the best $12 I spent in a long time. Love sunflowers!

Made hot dogs for dinner, had them with potato salad

Pitted 1 pound of cherries

Saturday-

up early to get to Haymarket. Met Lena for some shopping together

Dropped Lena off, went to The Meat House and Trader Joes before finally getting back home

Made breakfast sandwiches for Price and myself. I had a beer with my breakfast sandwich. Highly enjoyable.

Got to work in the kitchen:

– cut up watermelon

– made salsa

– cut up veggies for Sunday dinner stir fry

– sooo many dishes and photos(!!!) with Olena’s lens she let me borrow 🙂

Made ‘Mexican hot dogs’ for lunch. Gluten free buns suck

Watched Knight and Day

We went to Home Depot and then Whole Foods (AGAIN!)

Made caprese salad for us for dinner.

Price and I watched NASCAR race

I made watermelon sorbet

Before going to bed I did some reading. Really hooked on the first Sookie Stackhouse book. flying through it!

Sunday-

slept in until 9. oo wicked

Made breakfast for Price, I was not hungry

Played around on the computer… blog post, scheduling tweets for HRN, pinning, reading emails

12pm massage that I almost missed

Made chicken salad for lunch and lunch for the week

Price left for work so I started cleaning, unpacked more boxes, organized wine, mopped floor, put down the new rug, hung curtains back up.

Watched most of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. I love Shia Lebouf.

Worked on blog icons… didn’t order business cards like I planned. DAMN!

Started dinner, Price got home (finally!) and he helped me make dinner while I unloaded the dishwasher. We had a picnic on the floor since I didn’t clear off the table from unpacking boxes

After dinner, I cleaned the rabbits cage, helped take out the trash, showered, and played around on pinterest.

Bed by 12.30am.

7.1-4: How Martha Were You?

How Martha Were You?

I spent the long weekend with Price’s family back home in upstate NY. It was leisurely, warm, and involved naps. My perfect kind of weekend!

Friday Night-

Price and I met afterwork at Haymarket to get fruit and veggies for the week

We stopped by our new favorite sushi place for some take out, saw a (double?) rainbow on the walk home

got sucked into How I Met Your Mother episodes we had on our DVR

I cleaned the kitchen, always a work in progress!

We packed for the weekend.

I started blueberry lemonade- made the fresh blueberry juice ice cubes

Saturday-

Up at 5am, showered

Finished making the lemonade for the car ride.

In the car at 6.01 (only 1minute past our goal!), drove to natick, realized we left a gift at home, turned around and started our journey again 30 minutes later, douh!

Price took me to Wegmans, some 20+ miles out of the way, so I could get some gluten free stuff for the weekend. Stopped off at a liquor store.

Arrived at our destination a bit after noon!!!

Unpacked the car, had some beer/left-over lemonade spiked with vodka, roamed the yard.

I went to Doug’s Fish Fry to get us lunch

I took a 5 minute nap (no joke) before we headed out to meet everyone to go out on C+H’s new boat.

Back home, took a 2 hour nap

Met everyone again to go out on the boat again to listen to the summer concert, had some Skinny Girl Margarita (kinda too salty)

Drinks at The Sherwood

Crash until bed

Sunday-

Slept in until 10. What?!?

Went to the grocery store then drug store

Made guacamole, Price grilled the corn (3 different ways as a test) and hot dogs. Enjoyed a long (2 hr) lunch with Price’s dad

Went to Price’s friends ‘beach’ (a storm washed it away) to watch

Monday-

Made breakfast sandwiches

C+H came over so we could give the boys presents for each of their birthdays and to say good bye

On the road shortly after 11am to head back home

2 trips to McDonalds on the drive home… nothing more American than that, no? ha

stop at Petco for rabbit bedding

Unload car, shower, unwind, scrapbook, simple mac and cheese for dinner, watch the NY fireworks, edit photos

6.24-26: How Martha Were You?

How Martha Were You?

Another weekend went by in a blur. I enjoy that Price and I are starting a Friday night tradition with sushi. The neighborhood is really different than where we were before so I am adjusting to the limited selection of places but this sushi place is really good.

Friday Night-

becoming a Friday night routine, we stopped for some beer/wine and some sushi

Saturday-

I got up early and went to Haymarket for veggies and fruit for us and the rabbits

Back home- lots of cleaning and still lots of unpacking. The living room is starting to come together. I unpacked all the books and set them on the bookcases. I need to purge my damn books!!!

Price and I went to Home Depot for a few things, including a MArtha Stewart Mirror for our bathroom.

I set up my crafting station and enjoyed getting crafty. I worked on a scrapbooking page. It felt good to be able to work on a layout- been too long!

Sunday-

We slept in a bit, nice for a change.

Enjoyed Sunday Morning, the paper, breakfast.

More cleaning, laundry, crafts!!

I played around with my new camera taking pictures.

I made oven roasted tomatoes! The oven was on for a long time but it was worth it.
