Summertime Picnicking in the Park

Picnicking in the Park is one of the best activities to do with your kids in the summer. It’s lots of fun when you listen to music and cloud gaze. We wouldn’t go on a picnic without our Baby K’Tan Swaddle Blankets are the best blanket for the kids to sit on. Cute, color coordinated, and perfectly sided for each kid.

Seriously, I feel like Florida is out to get me some days.

All this past week, I’ve been telling Autumn that we would be having a picnic for lunch.

Every day it has rained!!!!!!

I’m not talking cloudy all day Seattle kind of rain, I’m like “hey, it’s sunny in our front yard, but raining in our backyard.” That is how things work here, in Tampa Bay, no joke.

It’s been super annoying for me since she keeps asking about our picnic and keep pointing to a sunny sky, then I turn her to the 1 dark cloud over us that is dumping rain on us. Or have her walk out onto the super saturated, wet grass.

We have managed to get by with a few indoor picnics. Fun, but not the same.

But we managed to have our picnic today!!!! Woohoo!!!!

Autumn helped make the wraps for our lunch.

It was great that she was so eager to actually help out, vs just grabbing snacks we have in the snack drawer and put them ALL in the picnic basket. ha!

We packed up our wraps, fruit, chips, and drinks. And plenty of napkins too!

Just to keep things nice and easy, we went out to the park directly in front out our house. We found some shade and laid our stuff out for a great picnic.

The kids each got a Baby K’tan Swaddle Blanket to sit on, while I took a blanket for myself and the food. Giving them their own blanket to sit on made that space special, and kept them

Hunter hasn’t needed to be swaddled in over 8 months now, but I have been using the Baby K’tan Baby Swaddles in our every day life. It certainly extends the life of just a swaddle blanket. They are great for using for some warm on a morning walk, in a fort, or cuddling with after a long day at the pool. They are light weight and have held up to lots of washing. And the stains just pop right out too.

We enjoyed our lunch with some music (“Let it Go” radio on the Pandora app). Perfectly low key and mellow.

Hunter stole all the raspberries. Ah, that plump little baby belly!

Then we laid back and looked at the big fluffy clouds. Autumn did a great job describing them- one looked like Santa on his sleigh. Cloud Watching – it’s such a quintessential summer time thing to do.

And, of course, she got a chance to run and jump around. Autumn just had to try to touch some leaves on the trees, run from side of the park, and do some cart wheels in before we headed back in.

I’m so glad that we were able to have a great picnic together. I’m looking forward to having more and more summertime picnics of them with the kids. When we go, I’ll be sure to pack out Baby K’Tan Swaddle Blankets for the kids to sit on too.

Also, she took this picture of Hunter and me. Oh my heart… burst!
