It’s time to get baking cooking, making candy, and decking halls. Fa la la la la, la la la la.

I’m sure that you are just as stuffed as we are from Thanksgiving, but I’m still ready to cook up a storm. I’m not running out looking for the best deals today. I don’t do all that Black Friday Hoopla. I’m just going to get cozy with some cookbooks and plan out all that baking I am going to be doing this Holiday Season.

I’ve been stocking up on butter, chocolate chips, flour, and sugar when it has been on sale recently. I am going to hit up this season hard.

Baking is fun, but I really love to just give out all the goodies I make. It’s fun to share, plus I can’t have all those cookies in the house. Way too much temptation there!

Right now, Autumn is really into helping me bake as well. I love to be in the kitchen by myself because I like to be hyper efficient and not make huge messes. But, having her help me is great because she has so much enjoyment in it.Plus, it is a great way for her to learn about the skills needed in baking. We work on counting and adding things up while we do it too. So proud that she can level out 1/2 Cup measuring cups of sugar and flour, counting as she goings, pouring them into the mixer. So fun!

She even helped me make these Slow Cooker Almond Joy Chocolate Clusters with me recently.

These isn’t any actual baking with these candies, but she did help me weigh out the ingredients. All you need is your slow cooker. You don’t even need to really watch over the melting process. It’s pretty cool that way.

My bestie Amanda makes the most amazing Crockpot Candy. It’s uber popular, and rightfully so! It’s yummy. Plus, the video of it has been viewed over 33 million times. OMG! Anyway, I was inspired by that to make these Slow Cooker Almond Joy Chocolate Clusters

Slow Cooker Almond Joy Chocolate Clusters are just like the Almond Joy candy that is loaded up with coconut and topped with almond. These Almond Joy Chocolate Clusters are just like that, but in yummy Christmas Candy form.

Years ago, I had no idea what Almond Bark was. When I saw it called out in a recipe I was quite confused “ummm, but I don’t want almonds in this…” Well, there are no nuts in it. It’s just called Almond Bark as you use it to make candy barks and to coat things like nuts and pretzels. It’s a candy, not actually chocolate, so you don’t need to temper it like chocolate. That is one of the reasons it is so great to use when making barks and other yummy things, like chocolate covered strawberries.  Similar to Almond Bark is, CANDIQUIK, either can be used to make this Slow Cooker Almond Joy Candy. You can find either in the baking aisle at your local grocery store. If you are having trouble finding it there, then try a craft store, like Michael’s.

When making this Slow Cooker Almond Joy Candy, you want to start by mixing the almonds and chocolate chips together. Then you top with the big chunks of the bark and chocolate bar. Then you just let the slow cooker do its thing!

The most important thing is to know your slow cooker. Does it run hot? If so, then you need to keep an eye on this more so it doesn’t burn. You don’t want burned chocolate! So just check it out after 30 minutes and see how things are going. No harm in that! 🙂 I ran mine on the WARM setting since mine runs hot, even on the low setting.

Clearly, the salt isn’t in an almond joy, but it does add a little somethin’ somethin’ to it. It’s optional, but I think it helps make it extra awesome. Can’t beat that salty/sweet combo.

This recipe makes A LOT of Slow Cooker Almond Joy Candy so it really is a wonderful recipe to make for gift giving. I bet everyone will be loving
