The 10 Best Things in Toy Story Land
The larger than Life Toys
Giant versions of our favorite Toy Story characters and your favorite toys that you grew up with are everywhere. Woody welcomes you for an awesome day playing around in Andy’s backyard. Watch as the Slink Dog Dash whizzes by Cowgirl Jessie and Rex, as they are balancing high up on blocks, helping to string up the Christmas Lights throughout the land. And you’ll find Buzz Lightyear in front of the Alien Swirling Saucers, often watching over the playful Green Toy Soldiers.
The scale of everything in Toy Story Land, including the benches made out of Dominoes and Popsicle sticks, bendy straw light posts, and K’nex, makes you feel like you are one of the toys in Andy’s toy box.
Be sure to take a picture Woody and Buzz, as well as all the other fun larger than life elements throughout Toy Story Land. Just be sure not to pass by Woody and Buzz too quickly as you run around enjoying Toy Story Land! They will entertain you with their signature catch phrases, “Howdy Partner” and “To infinity and Beyond!”, as well as other silly sayings.
Slinky Dog Dash
You are launched right from the start to kick off a thrill filled rollercoaster ride. You’ll enjoy that the coaster cars look like Slink, but the best part is that you feel like you are riding on a slinky! You feel like you are coiling up and then getting stretched out again quickly on the track. I bet you never thought you would know what it feels like to be a silly slinky dog!
At one point during the roller coaster ride, you come to a stop, the ride pulls you back, and then sling-shot forward again. So, so fun!! Shortly after that, you go over some small hills that make you scream with glee.
Fast passes are hard to come by for the ride, but if you get one, then enjoy the fun ride! Going to Rope Drop to get on the ride with a short line is another option. Just be sure to run to it quickly!
Have fun twisting and turning around Andy’s toys, like loads of wooden blocks, spunky cowgirl Jessie, and Rex. It has plenty of pep and acceleration that will thrill riders of all ages.
Riders must be 38″ or taller. (If you have ridden 7DMT, then think of that in terms of that coaster! Your kid might be tall enough, but think about what they can actually handle at their age.)
Meeting Buzz, Woody, and Jessie
Of course, getting your pictures taken with Buzz, Woody, and Jessie are a must. Who doesn’t want to meet the best characters in one of your favorite Disney movie series?!?
Be sure to purchase a memory maker package to capture all of these fun photo opportunities in Toy Story land and throughout the Disney World parks.
Alien Swirling Saucers
Pizza rocket ships adorn the green car you sit in that is being towed by an alien manned flying saucer. Tag along with the aliens for a fun, swirling, gliding ride as you move about “The clawwwwwwwww!” You zip around the track, whipping you from side to side. Whoa!!!!
Riders must be 32″ or taller. (Note: This does not spin like the tea cups, but whips you around more)
Toy Story Mania!
This ride is perfect for everyone who is ready to have some fun at the arcade. Slip on some 3D glasses and start shooting! The ride takes you around different screens where you point your controller to shoot at the various chickens, balloons, plates, and bulls eyes that are hopping, moving, flying, and bouncing around. Compete with your rider companion, as well as the others on the ride. Can you beat the high score?!?
Eating at Woody’s Lunch Box
Grab a meal at Woody’s Lunch Box and you will be transported back in time to when you used to sit down in the cafeteria with your friends. Except now lunch is awesome!!! I bet your school cafeteria didn’t serve tater tots that are loaded up with chili, 2 kinds of cheese, and sour cream.
Breakfast favorites are their breakfast sandwiches, like their S’more French Toast Sandwich and Smoked Turkey Breakfast Sandwich. Looking for something lighter? Then enjoy a Banana Split Yogurt Parfait. Smaller portions of their breakfast bowls and sandwiches are available for kids.
Lunch and Dinner show stoppers are their loaded up Totchos and their BBQ Brisket Melt. Pair your grilled cheese with some tomato basil soup or a pasta salad.
Enjoy using your dining plan as this is a quick service location. Snack credits can also be used for the yummy Lunch Box Tarts that come with raspberry or chocolate hazelnut fillings. Always save room for dessert!
Dancing along with the Green Army Drummers
Green Army Men (and Women!) will have you marching to their orders in no time. The commander barks orders out that will have you jumping, wiggling around, hopping through hula hoops, and boogieing on down with silly dance movies.
They also go marching through the park with drums so you can march along with them there. Step to it!
Taking Instagram-able Pictures
Besides taking memorable pictures with characters, take pictures with larger than life toys for a fun Instagram picture. The toy soldiers, blocks, tinker toys, and Christmas lights all make it look like you have shrunken down to their miniature size, when in fact they are all massive.
Be sure to come back at night to get a fun picture under the illuminated Christmas lights that strung up throughout the land.
Having Fun Waiting
Umm… what?! Yep! The queues for the rides are long, but they weave through you through larger than life board games, playing cards, and Andy’s drawings. Noticing all of these elements and details will help make the time pass by quickly. Also, you can keep busy looking for the hidden Mickey’s among Andy’s drawings in the Toy Story Mania queue.
Fun Toy Story Merch
Show off your love of the whole Toy Story gang with fun toys, ears, and apparel. Slinky dog ‘ears’ are a must. And be sure to grab a toy that looks just like the spaceships on the Alien Swirling Saucers ride after you get off the ride.

Disney recently invited our family to attend a Preschool Event at Toy Story Land. While our accommodations, park tickets, and food were provided for the event, all opinions are my own.

We loved Toy Story land this summer. Slinky Dog was great fun! We found going in the evening was quietest.
