Westgate Town Center in Kissimmee, Florida is a great resort that will keep the whole family busy with activities all day on a beautiful property.
While my 2-night stay at Westgate Resort was complimentary, all feedback is honest. I always strive to provide everyone with an accurate and complete recap and review so they can consider enjoying the places I visit, restaurants I dine at, and activities I do.
My family enjoyed a hosted 2-night midweek staycation at Westgate Town Center Resort in Kissimmee Florida in August 2020. I was thrilled to be invited to check out a wonderful resort and take a fun break from the normal routine for some fun.
I am thankful for any chance I get to take a trip with my family so I was thrilled to visit one of their Kissimmee hotels.

Westgate Town Center Resort and Vacation Villas
Westgate Resorts boasts a wide range of properties throughout the United States. With resorts in such locations as Park City, Las Vegas, New York City, Williamsburg, and Myrtle Beach, you’ll find a great resort for any kind of adventure. You can hit the slopes or the beach when staying at Westgate.
The Westgate Town Center Resort and Vacation Villas in Kissimmee Florida is an expansive space that boasts towers of large rooms and Vacation Villas of various sizes. You can stay for a few days or you can become a vacation club member of the resort. There are so many ways to enjoy your stay that you can’t go wrong with any approach you do.

This Westgate location is a great option if you are visiting Orlando to go to one of the many theme parks in the area. It gives you access so many great things to do in Orlando, which is just a short drive away.
Even if you aren’t going to the theme parks, it is a great resort to visit because it has so many things to do right on the property.

The One-Bedroom Deluxe Villa
There are a variety of room types in the towers at the Westgate Resort that are prefect for any budget and family size. You can easily have a wedding or family reunion here as they boast some cool event venues in Kissimmee, FL. Plus, you can book a great deal too!
The One-Bedroom Deluxe Villa is a great option for a couple or a small family as it can sleep 4 guests.
There is ample room in the living area for everyone to enjoy getting to relax in front of the TV. Or to enjoy a meal that they prepared in the kitchen. I was really impressed with the kitchen. It had a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave, toasted, and microwave. As well, it also was stocked with pots, pans, glasses, dishes, and utensils. (I’ve stayed in hotels that have kitchens but no supplies and then you have to buy them for another fee!)
The sofa is a queen sized sleeper sofa so 2 guests can comfortably sleep there.

The bathroom for the room was spacious and well equipped with a large shower, large vanity, private toilet closet, and laundry unit.
While we didn’t use this laundry unit (combination washer and dryer in 1 unit), I think this is a major plus to have in the room.
Our kids stayed in this room and slept really well on the king-sized bed.
They really enjoyed getting to lounge there and watch TV together. A real treat for them since we normally limit TV time so getting to watch TV while in bed was awesome. Gotta love vacation!

While we didn’t have any issues with our neighbors being loud, it should be noted that rooms are clustered together off a small private hall. The entrance to the rooms are in close proximity to each other so everyone should be courteous when entering and exiting their rooms. Be aware of a slamming door or speaking loudly as it will be directly next to someone else’s room.
The One-Bedroom Villa had a door that allowed for an adjoining room. This is a great option for large families or for multiple families staying together. They have their own spaces, but can easily come together.

The One-Bedroom Grand Villa
While our kids slept in the attached One-Bedroom Deluxe Villa, our family spent the majority of the time in the room in this One-Bedroom Grand Villa.
A large open floor plan is great for families to be together while also having plenty of space. There is a connected large kitchen, dining area, and living area.
Like the other kitchen, this was well stocked, with the addition of a blender (used that for making doggie ice cream!). We did use the stacked washer and dryer unit to wash our bathing suits after the trip to the water park.
The room accommodates 4 with a king-sized bed and a queen sized sleeper sofa. Our bed was really comfortable and cozy.
In our bedroom was a very large jetted tub. I went out and picked up some bubble bath from a local Target so the kids could enjoy that one night. They definitely had a blast playing around in that. I think they loved that as much as the water park! ha!
My only complaint about the bathroom was that the shower stall was very dark. I have very poor eyesight so the darkness, on top of my poor vision, made taking the shower a quick activity.
From naps to cartoons, the living room was constantly used by us and our dogs.
When traveling with dogs, be sure to remember their basics, like food, medications, and their bowls. But, I also suggest bringing toys for them so they have comfort things to enjoy in a new place.
One of the things I am critical of when it comes to hotels is upkeep and I felt that these rooms were great. Things can easily smell damp from the Florida humidity, but that wasn’t the case here.

We had some rain when we first were going to check out the activities when we arrived, and again the next day when we were at the water park.
Instead of being bummed it changed things up for us, I focused on the good from it. We saw a great rainbow after our first rain storm. And we got in some great naps because of the second one. Always, look for that silver lining!
One of my favorite features of the room was the spacious balcony.
The balcony had a very high railing and was also screened in so I felt this was very safe for our dogs and kids. I felt very comfortable allowing everyone to freely go out there.
The balcony had a table with 4 chairs and chaise lounge as well. Perfect for enjoy meals or for enjoying a coffee with the dog. We stayed on the 6th floor of the tower so it provided us with some great views as well.
Dining
There are so many delicious options right on Westgate Town Center Resort that will satisfy every craving at every budget.
We started our stay with a great dinner from Drafts Sports Bar and Grill. This was a great casual option for us that served up great sports bar dishes. We loved the Nashville Hot Chicken and the Fish and Chips. Both portions where huge and delicious.
While enjoying the afternoon at Shipwreck Island Water Park, we had lunch at the Jolly Roger’s Galley. It’s a quick service option on the lower deck of the water park. Our family split the hot dog, quesadilla, and steak sandwich.
And don’t forget to get a drink at the Sea Dog’s Bar. I highly suggest the the Banana Mudslide. Perfect for pool side sipping.
After a fun day of activities and a visit to the water park, we had a hearty appetite for the Villa Italiano Chophouse.
Everything that we enjoyed was incredible- antipasto, burrata, handmade tortellini, and limoncello.
Even our kids’ meals spaghetti and giant meatballs were awesome. Like, come on- handmade pasta for a kids meal! So good!
I felt that the quality and service from this restaurant would be great for a date night, or for celebrating an anniversary.
The entire meal blew me away. I was stuffed afterwards, and I still had leftovers that we brought back to our room.
Activities
There are so many fun activities to do on the property! You can enjoy a movie in the movie room, play basketball, rent a bike, or lounge by a pool.
The 18- hole mini golf course was a ton of fun for all of us. It was an easy coarse that was great for a kids to play on. (Our daughter beat us both with a hole in 1!)
A few of the wholes were flooded from the pouring down rain the night before so we didn’t play all 18 holes but we still had a great time.
After our round of mini golf, we went next door to the activity center to do some tie dye. I probably hadn’t done tie dye in over 25 years so this was as much of a treat for me as it was for my daughter who was doing it for the whole time. (This activity is an additional cost*)
Shipwreck Island Water Park
The Shipwreck Island Water Park is a fun 2 level water park in the center of the Town Center Resort. This an amazing add on activity that the whole family can enjoy.
We started out on the top level by enjoying the Lazy River and Pirate Ship splash pad. The Lazy River allowed us to relax in tubes as we floated around, while the Pirate Ship had more action with small slides and water cannons.
I thought the water park was a great value to the resort. It would keep families busy for hours going from the different activities on the different levels.
My daughter had so much fun going on the slides. In fact, we ran into a friend so the 2 of them would run up the stairs, get in line, and then zip down the slides together. So much fun!
Plus, I was thankful there were plenty of things for both of them to do together as well. Often times, water parks don’t really accommodate little kids, but that was no the case here.
Unfortunately, our afternoon was cut short with stormy skies and tons of thunder. It was disappointing we only got to spend a few hours there because we could have spent a whole day there.
Note: $20 per person (General Admission), $15 per person (Active Military) For Westgate owners and guests ONLY staying on property. Not open to the general public.
There are also several pools throughout the property that are great for everyone to enjoy. If you are staying right at one of the condo style villas, they will be located right by your villa. Great privacy and immediate access.
The Dog Park
We brought our 2 Boston Terriers with us for our stay. This allowed us to enjoy vacation without having to add in the cost of a dog sitter/boarding. Plus, it was great to know they were enjoying vacation with us.
The dog park was great for our dogs to expel some energy before we left for a few hours. This allowed them to easily and safely get their normal exercising in. Plus, it was just exciting to have a new place full of new smells to explore.
Even in the August heat, it was comfortable as it was well shaded with plenty of pines in the park. It was also well maintained with trimmed grass and no landmines from other dogs!
One section of fencing needed some more dirt to eliminate a gap where a very small dog could get out. Besides that we felt the dog park was the perfect addition to the resort. It is going to be something that we consider going forward when we are vacation with our dogs.
I was extremely happy and satisfied with our staycation trip to Westgate Tower in Kissimmee, Florida. I really can’t wait to go back there. As well, our kids keep asking when we can do back too. They can’t wait to play at the water park and to do the jacuzzi again.
It was so much fun to spend time together while doing really fun activates on property. Plus, I felt completely safe with the procedures in place for Covid-19. Rooms were in clean and everyone was wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
8Prior to your vacation confirm the activates that are available and their hours so you can be prepared and plan out a fun, fantastic vacation.
