The Crayola Experience in Orlando is a wonderful place to visit and to be creative with a lot colorful fun and educational activities.
If you are looking for an activity to do with your family in the Orlando area, the Crayola Experience is the perfect place to let the whole family enjoy coloring, crafting, dancing, and having tons of colorful fun.
This recap of The Crayola Experience is based upon a hosted visit. All opinions are honest and are my own.
The Orlando area has so many fun places to visit. It’s wonderful to make Orlando a destination for a trip but it’s also great live in Central Florida. I swear you can never be bored because there so different attractions and events happening year round.
We recently enjoyed a fun visit to Crayola Experience, conveniently located at the Florida Mall and downtown Orlando.
My family had the opportunity to visit Crayola Experience while enjoying a hosted trip with Visit Orlando. We had the most amazing time there doing things, like coloring, playing games, creating creatures with clay, and dancing around under colorful rainbows. Plus, we learned so much about the Crayola brand and crayons too.
Wrap it up
Directly at the top of the stairs, you are welcomed with the Wrap It Up station and entrance of the Crayon Factory Show.
At the Wrap It Up activity, you are immediately provided with the opportunity to imagine you are a designer naming your own crayons.
The kids really liked this because they were able to select the color they liked most, then come up with a fun crayon name for it. On their label they also got to pick a fun shape accent to make their label really special.
It seems that everywhere you looked there was a different station for you to do something fun.
You become part of a swirling explosion of color and light when you dance around in a colorful kaleidoscope. We sent several of these fun videos to our selves and had a good laugh over them later on at the hotel.
Fun Scribble Scrubbies
Scribble Scrubbies are so much fun! My kids have several sets of them that they color with all the time. They are a great toy because they are easy to use and easy to clean so the possibilities are endless with them.
We colored in our parrots with various different colorful designs- stripes, zig zags, polka dots! The best is that you get to take them home with you. They have been added to our other animals and the kids have been playing with them a lot since then. It’s like a we a funky colorful zoo at our house.
Adventure Lab
I think that Hunter’s favorite activity the whole day was this fun interactive game.
Using touch screens you move pieces of wood and pipes around on the screen to guide the melting crayon wax into the appropriate buckets. I was getting really into it to try to beat my time to help the wax flow the most effective way possible. It was bringing out my competitive side!
We practically had to drag him away from this because he was having so much fun moving the blocks around and watching the melted wax spill out over them.
The You Design Activity
In the “You Design” activity station, you get to be a car or a dress designer.
The kids loved taking the worksheets to color in, scanning them, and then watching their masterpiece up on the wall.
“Anybody can be a designer in this unique activity! In this interactive virtual studio, you can color, scan & digitally accessorize your car or fashion design to your unique style, then show it off in the spotlight! Have your model walk the runway or your car race the course on a huge projected screen! “
We had so much fun here creating different cars and outfits to see projected on the walls. This kept us busy for a while because the options were endless in our cool designs.
Throughout the Crayola Experience, you can check out different displays and posters featuring fun facts about the history of various products that Crayola has developed over the year.
Passholder Perks
Something to consider is getting a Crayola Experience membership. If you live in the area and think that you would visit regularly, then a membership is a great way to enjoy visits at a great value.
Plus, you get to enjoy monthly perks, save on merchandise, food, party packages, and admission for guests. There are early access days and passholder events too.
Every month there is a different Scribble Scrubbie that is exclusive to annual membership. As well, you can enjoy specific deals on food and merchandise that goes beyond the regular discount.
Fun with Clay
With the coins you receive in your welcome bag, you can pick out some Crayola’s Model Magic compound. There is a cool vending machine so you can pick a few colors. Then you get to work with your hands and tools to sculpt some fun shapes and creatures. There are also for your to use to help created your own custom color too.
The kids has a great time making different creatures with their clay. They made fun shapes and then used the markers to color them to give them fun accents. Autumn created a fun octopus that she covered in polka dots.
Covid Safety
Throughout the Crayola Experience, there were signs with safety tips.
We felt really comfortable during out visit because everyone was properly wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.
As well, there were several people cleaning throughout. Wherever there were higher traffic areas, like the Crayola Factory, there was something often cleaning. The tools at Modeling Madness, were checked out and checked back in after cleaning.

Crayon Factory Show
During out visit, we enjoyed getting to see the Crayon Factory show. Our Crayonologist was joined by animated crayon friends Scarlet & Turk (Turquoise) to show you how crayons are made.
We learned how crayons are made through a fun show that gives a bit of history and information about how crayons are made. The Crayonologist explains and demonstrates how crayons are made. Also, they explain how Crayola crayons are superior to other brands. Need some quality crayons for all the art kids create.
Creating Drip Art & Molded Crayons
After seeing how crayons are made in the Factory Show, it’s fun to be able to break them down and transform them in 2 different fun activities.
We all know that crayons melt but you can melt them into fun pieces of art themselves. One station allows you to use 2 crayons to make fun swirl art. So colorful and fun to see being made. Each piece is quite unique.
Another activity gives you the ability to melt down crayons into fun shapes. They have a few different options so you can make different shapes. Hunter liked his tiny smiley face crayon!
Dancing in Rainbow Rain
Throughout the Crayola Experience, there are several activities for you to do that will get you moving and grooving!
The Kaleidoscope and the Rainbow Rain are interactive experiences that have you moving your body around to play with colorful crayons.
They also really liked the Stomp and Play area where you can run around on a projected surface. The kids (and us!) enjoyed hopping around on the interactive floor. The projector and motion sensors work together to have you dodging hockey pucks and sharks, reveal hidden photos, crack ice, and make popcorn kernels pop!
Toddler Town and Colorful Playground
There are 2 different playgrounds for kids to enjoy playing on at the Crayola Experience. There is Toddler Town, which is targeted for smaller children, and the Colorful Playground which is aimed at older kids.
Both feature different age and size appropriate climbing structures allowing kids to wiggle, bounce, and jump around on. They can climb their way through obstacles to get up the towers to slide down the crayon boxes.
A Bluetiful Crayon
The Crayola Experience in Orlando is home to Bluetiful, the world’s largest Crayola crayon. This crayon weighs 1,352 pounds and 15.6 feet long. So cool!
The Crayola Experience in Orlando is a fun, colorful place to visit!
Kids of all ages will love the all the ways they can stay busy, creative, and engaged throughout the day there. Be sure to plan a long visit so you can see and play with it all!
