I feel that desserts get the short end of the stick at Thanksgiving. At least, they kinda get the cold shoulder from me.
I’m just usually too full to enjoy all the desserts laid out in their splendor. They just come too late in the day. I’m already stuffed from all the food that I’ve munched on all day.
Which is exactly why I didn’t make any desserts this Thanksgiving and just ate some Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s. Oh man, they are addicting. I had thought I’d make some brown butter chocolate chip cookies but the Joe-Joe’s were calling me and they are a whole lot easier to enjoy than making cookies after a day of making food, including a 22+ turkey. For the 2 of us. I’m insane.
So if you happen to have some extra Pumpkin Pie then I encourage you to make a Pumpkin Pie Milkshake. Sure, sure, you can totally enjoy that leftover pumpkin pie for breakfast but I think that the leftover pie deserves so much more than that. You’d probably just be sneaking it before the kids get up so they don’t see you eating pie for breakfast anyway. So embrace the dessert and kick it up a notch.
Besides you’ve already consumed a bazillion calories so what’s a few more from that ice cream? Ugh, diet starts Monday…
Yep, just do it.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Now do some shopping and enjoy your leftovers!
