Your Mission: Stay Hydrated- Hot summer days zap us all of energy. It’s important to stay hydrated. You’ll feel great & your overall wellness will improve.
Whenever I am feeling lousy, the first thing I think of is if I am properly hydrated.
Or that is a tumor and I will probably be dead in 3 months.
But more likely, I’m just not properly hydrated.
When I am running around after 2 kids and 2 dogs in the hot Florida sun, I have to be mindful of staying hydrated. Before I know it, a few hours have gone by and I haven’t have anything after my morning coffee. And I really try to stay on top of it with plenty of big water bottles around for me to grab when I am running from room to room. Even then, I don’t always feel refreshed.
Whole Foods isn’t too close to us, so when I get the chance to go. I go allllllll out! My cart gets filled up with our favorite items and wander around discovering products that I hadn’t had before. I really am a kid in a candy store when I am in Whole Foods.
I recently saw Starkey Water and wanted to give it a try.
Water, here in Florida, is horrible. So bad.
Prior to moving to Florida, from New England, I never knew that that there were companies that installed systems to clean/purify/soften water for your whole home. It’s big business where we live since water is so hard (a lot of calcium and magnesium). Often times, people purchase systems that require monthly service to soften the water. Rather than do that, my husband installed a system a year after we moved. It has 4 filters in it to capture various elements and particles in it. Now water tastes so much better, and out dishwasher is running better. Plus, out washer is smelling less.
Still, I don’t love the water, so I was eager to try Starkey Water.
It is so refreshing! Each sip is so clean and crisp. It feels like I’m camping and I’m drinking from a cool babbling brook (but don’t do that, you can get seriously sick!)
What’s so special about Starkey Water?
Well, the water is naturally alkaline and it’s single sourced from Starkey Spring, in Idaho. The water is essentially 11,000 years old, and since then has slowly been working its way up from 2.2 miles down. As it has moved through rock and a volcanic formation it has picked up minerals (such as calcium, silica, potassium, magnesium, and bicarbonate) along it’s journey to the surface in the Starkey Water Spring House. From there it is minimally processed, with it just passing through UV-light, as required by law, before being bottled.
What is Alkaline Water?
Pure water has a pH of 7. Alkaline water, also called ionized water, has a higher pH than regular water; generally with pH values between 7 and 9.5. However, Starkey Water is naturally at pH of 9.6.
Starkey Water tops the bottled alkaline waters with a 9.6 pH. It’s a great water to drink for a quick alkaline boost. I love enjoying a glass after taking a big walk or spending the morning working out in the yard.
Your Mission: Stay Hydrated!
Staying properly hydrated is one key to having great health. We all know that water is important for us. It’s vital in our lives, but so many of us don’t properly stay hydrated.
I admit that it can be hard to stay properly hydrated when we are so busy in and out of the house, but it’s a must.
Find ways for you to stay hydrated by keeping refillable bottles of water around and setting a reminder on your phone every hour.
Also, keeping bottles of Starkey Water readily available in the fridge is a great way to occasionally add a nice alkaline water to your routine. Grab it when you are in need of a big, cold glass of water. Or toss it in your bag for a busy day on the go. No matter what, Starkey Water will be there to help refresh you.
