When we lived in Massachuestts, we would go to the Brimfield antiques fair in the summer. I would always get lunch at a vendor that makes Pilgrim Sandwiches.
There pretty much always is a long line but they keep things moving quickly. The wait is worth it. Trust me. The sandwich is so good. How can you pass up fresh turkey, stuffing, cranberry, and mayo on a roll?!?!
After getting up early, driving over an hour and walking around all morning discovering different things for the house I’m so ready for this sandwich.
Thanksgiving Leftovers Pilgrim Sandwich
I think I really just like Thanksgiving because of the leftovers. You can use them so many different ways from soup, casseroles, to sandwiches. I have even made a yummy Thanksgiving Waffle with leftover stuffing and then topping it with the rest of your favorite leftovers.
Making a Pilgrim Sandwich is a great way to enjoy your leftovers in a great way other than just making another plate of food.
Toast the sandwich roll to start your delicious sandwich. I think this helps it stand up to the filling vs not toasting it.
Reheat all the yummy leftovers you will use- turkey, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce. Gravy is another great edition to the sandwich too!
Slater the toasted roll with mayonnaise. Sometimes I like to add Dijon mustard as well.
Then just pile your leftovers mile high on the roll, squish the top down, cut in half and then get ready to take a big bite!
Be thankful for all the great things that have happened this year, big or small. And be sure to be thankful every time you make this awesome Pilgrim Sandwich!
