So there is an ice cream truck that has been taunting me every night since it drives right down our block. It alternates between playing “pop goes the weasel” and “la cucaracha”. We live in a Hispanic area so the later song selection makes sense.
Anyway, I’ve been good about resisting running outside with a handful of ones to get an eclair popsicle, my favorite. One super hot day I will break down and flag him down for a sweet treat.
I’ve done well with resisting the jingle as it breezes around our neighborhood but not so well with resisting checking out a million and a half ice cream, popsicle, and milkshake recipes.
Oh man, maybe it’s was last weekends heat wave that got me so interested in all things frozen but I can’t stop thinking about enjoying a something chilly while sitting on our front steps as the sun sinks down.
Since it’s the start of summer Amanda and I are so ready for some slurp-able milkshakes. We each dove right into cartons of chocolate ice cream and made some awesome milkshakes for our loved ones. Pricer loved the S’mores Milkshake that I made and Amanda’s boys enjoyed rich Chocolate Malted Milkshakes. My dad would seriously love those Chocolate Malted Milkshakes. He loves malted milkballs. 🙂
The rest of this month’s Thirsty Thursday’s recipes are all centered around the great milkshake so stay tuned for some delicious, ice cream creations.

I’ve totally chased down an ice cream truck as an adult. But I think I’d choose this over an ice cream truck!
