December Daily Book (Before)

November 30, 2011

20111130-225458.jpgLast year I started to prep my December Daily album but I bailed at the last minute in participating the documenting my month. My fall was less than stellar so I didn’t feel like celebrating everything going on. I talked myself out of it ‘what do I have to document?!? I feel crappy and it’s not like I do anything exciting. I’m busy with work- great I’ll take a photo of my desk every day. I don’t have kids so there are only so many things I can take photos of.’

Well this year I am so damn determined to stick to it! I dug my kit out where I left it and ripped most of it apart. I did a new cover quickly last night. I started to play around with the pages inside it but decided that I should make that my 5 minute creative outlet every night and go with the flow.

I am going to use my Fuji Instax camera for the process. It’s going to be hilarious going to yank this massive play school like camera out of my bag every time to take a picture… Pricer will cringe. I have to admit that I’m totally stealing Kelly Purkey’s idea since she did this last year for her Dec Daily album. Looked amazing so I’m going to give it a try this year.

Can’t wait for tomorrow!!

The Cape LO

March 1, 2011

During this past summer, Emily and I did a day trip down to Cape Cod. We had a blast, as usual. I wrote up a blog post about it called : “Surf, Turf and a hint of Cirrhosis” That day was a whirlwind of adventures from breakfast, a Strawberry festival, shopping, the beach, getting seafood, making dinner and enjoying some boxed wine. While I want to make a (zany?) layout documenting all of that, I wanted to do a layout for just these 2 instax photos. I didn’t want them to get lost in the action of the other anticipated layout.

So I created a simple 2 photo layout. Some of the products I were Ki, American Crafts (Dear Lizzy line), Fine and Dandy, and House of 3. My favorite things to use were the text scribbles from Ki and the patterned paper from House of 3. I loved the long sticker and how it worked so well with the layout. The background paper was so sweet with the embossed butterfly.

do you see it too??

June 29, 2010

So I would love to post the photos we took on our trip to DC but I will spare you our sweaty gross faces (hello, 2 record hot days!) and just show you these few…

Oh our last day in DC we went to Georgetown. Jessica, food blogger and resident of Georgetown, gave us so many suggestions for places to eat and things to check out while we were in town. One being a restaurant called The Tombs, the bar that inspired St Elmo’s Fire. Well, since I was delirious from the heat I read my map incorrectly so we ended up missing the easy way and going up this insane flight of stairs instead.

Our waiter noticed that we looked a little spent and quickly got us water. We said how the heat was made worse by this long flight of stairs we just took. “Oh the exorcist stairs!” umm escuse me? So he went to tell us about the stairs and how they are in the movie- the part when the priest flew out the window and crashed down a flight of stairs… these stairs. Spooky.

So we went back to take some photos. And this is what we got. Seriously?

of all the photos we get 2 with blurs on them. no other photo has these spots. Price tried to argue it is the sun but I don’t by it since one photo is taken looking up the stairs and the other is taking looking down. I checked to see if the spots lined up in the photos but they don’t. Just weird….
