Are you ready for the Super Bowl next weekend? I can’t wait to see the Pats lose. At least I am hoping it goes that way.
Now before you think it’s all just because of the Pats and Tom Brady hatred, I actually have a very fun, good reason…
I graduated high school with the Center of the Rams. We weren’t in the same social circles, but he was the football star at school – the QB. So, I definitely knew who he was. Everyone did. He was named all state year. And he was a powder puff football coach when I played during homecoming week. Just a great guy then, and I’m sure he is still a great guy that needs to whoop Tom Brady’s ass!!!
So, I am rooting on the Rams with some hometown pride. I’m def wearing my Powder Puff shirt while I watch. Yeah, I’m a pack rat and kept that random thing. Hey, Marie Kondo- it makes me happy, it’s staying. ha!!
Besides wearing that super faded red shirt, I am definitely going to make another batch of these awesome Ranch Seasoned Oyster Crackers. I am also making some Jalapeno Poppers and am picking up a order of tenders from PDQ. Lots of good eats for the game!
Poppers are pretty involved to make, but these Ranch Seasoned Oyster Crackers are so easy to make. Basically, both are so addicting and will disappear before you know it! They are nicely toasted, seasoned with everyone’s favorite seasoning: RANCH! Plus, the cheese on the crackers gives them a bit more oomph- great flavor and a bit more saltiness.
I’ve seen plenty of recipes that call out for oil, but trust me: USE BUTTER!!!! The butter adds a really nice richness to the crackers. The oil is nice and neutral, but the butter shines!!!!
Besides snacking, Ranch Seasoned Oyster Crackers are a great add on to tomato soup. Ah, a big bowl of Roasted Tomato Soup with these yummy crackers on top. Or they would be great for salads too. Use them instead of croutons. Ah, makes me hungry just thinking about it now.
No matter how you eat them, you’ll realize that you can’t live without them. I swear! Even Hunter is always reaching for the containers of them for a snack. He knows what’s good, even if it’s at 6.30 in the morning and we haven’t had breakfast yet! ha!!!
