The Best Homemade Strawberry Milkshakes- this classic treat will have you nostalgic for the good ol’ days, even if you’re just 5 years old. ha!
Now, here’s the thing, I swear that these are the Best Homemade Strawberry Milkshakes ever.
It’s a bold statement, but it’s true.
I love milkshakes… I mean, who doesn’t?! But they are a realllllly big treat in our house since we are trying to stick to having ‘special treats’ on Fridays, or on the weekend. Gotta teach the kids some healthy eating, mixed in with some fun. I just tell myself that it balances out all those chicken nuggets, PBJ’s, and pizza that they eat.
So, if we treat ourselves to something big like a milkshake- we go all in. Go big guys! Make a big one and enjoy it! You better believe that I am going to make us the Best Homemade Strawberry Milkshakes!
Skip the strawberry syrup and get a butt load of fresh strawberries to blend up with your ice cream. Frozen strawberries will work too, but I just love the process of slicing up fresh berries. (Plus, we give our spoiled rabbit the strawberry tops. A milkshake treat for us, some yummy berries for her!). If you do use frozen ones, I suggest letting them thaw a bit or giving them a quick nuke, and then letting them cool. It just makes the process of blending them up a bit easier.
Besides, the strawberries, the other star of the show is the vanilla. Now, you’re thinking, it’s vanilla ice cream, why does she want me to add more vanilla? Trust me, do it. It enhances the flavors (duh!). I prefer using vanilla bean paste, over vanilla extract, but if you don’t have that on hand, then just use the vanilla extract. Then go and get some vanilla bean paste. It’s not only great for these awesome strawberry milkshakes, but for so many other things, like whipped cream.
Blend up your milkshake, then top it off with a generous amount of whipped cream for the perfect finishing touch. You’ll just need to insert a big straw to be on your way to enjoying The Best Homemade Strawberry Milkshakes.
The Best Homemade Strawberry Milkshakes are for kids from 1 to 100. Treat yourself and enjoy it! xoxo
