I love to give everything a bit of a Halloween flare to it this time of year. If I can make it orange- I will. Can it have a spooky flare to it? You betcha! Halloween is so fun, so I might as well make everything extra fun now.
These Halloween Oreo Brownies are a must make for your parties, movie nights, and whenever you are craving chocolate all month long. Make up a batch of these brownies before you sneak into the candy that you are going to give to the trick or treaters on Halloween.
Halloween Oreo Brownies
These Halloween Oreo Brownies are wonderfully rich brownies that is studded with chunks of Oreo Cookies. The brownie batter is light and fluffy so it makes for a soft brownie. And the cookie chunks get tender as the brownies bake so it doesn’t detract from the soft brownie. It all goes so perfectly together.
Of course you can just use regular brownies and make them year round, but the orange filling Oreos are perfect for Halloween!
To begin these brownies, preheat the oven to 350F. Like an 8×8 pan parchment paper, and then generously spray with nonstick cooking spray. I suggest using the baking version if you have it.
Combine the dry ingredients together and set aside. As well, melt together the butter and chocolate chips, and set them aside as well.
Take your egg yolks and beat them until you have created light and fluffy peaks. The end result will mean they have tripled in volume. This will take a few minutes but is key to creating these delicious brownies.
Sprinkle the brown sugar around the edges of the bowl and gently fold in. Then you will do the same for the melted chocolate.
Lastly, you will repeat this process with the dry ingredients. You want to evenly incorporate the ingredients, but you do not wan to greatly reduce the volume you created by beating the eggs initially. The big bubbles are expected to break up, but there should still be a light voluminous texture to it. It will not be a dense fudgy batter!
Gently fold in half the crushed Oreos. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Then sprinkle the rest of the Oreos and chocolate chips on top of the batter. Gently press into the batter.
Bake for 45- 50 minutes. Let cool completely prior to cutting and enjoying.
Pour yourself a big glass of milk, grab a Halloween Oreo Brownie and enjoy a spooky movie. I won’t tell if you grab 2 brownies, because they really are irresistible!

- 1/2Â Cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper with the paper overlapping the sides.
- In a small bowl, combine together the flour, coco power, and salt, set aside.
- Combine the chocolate and butter together. Gently heat to melt, whiling stirring often. Set aside to cool.
- Beat the eggs in a large mixing bowl until they have tripled in volume. Add half the brown sugar around the outer edge of the eggs in the bowl (so you don’t knock the air out of the mix) and gently fold until incorporated. Add the remaining sugar again around the edge, and fold again for a few minutes until the mix is smooth and you can’t feel any sugar crystals in between your fingers.
- Fold the melted chocolate into the eggs quickly to incorporate it.
- Add the dry ingredients mixture, chocolate chips, and 1/2 of the crushed Oreos around the edge of the bowl and fold in until combined, taking care not to knock the air out. Pour the mix into the paper-lined baking pan. Scatter the remaining chunks of Oreo cookies and chocolate chips over the top of the mixture, pressing some into the batter.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the middle is only slightly gooey.
- Set the pan on a wire rack to cool completely. When cooled, lift the baking paper and brownies out of the pan and set on a cutting board. Cut into 2×2-inch squares (in half and then half again, both ways).
