Work in Progress

October 8, 2009

IMG_0337

I am a work in progress.

I am constantly working (or at least thinking) about what I can do next, how I should/could have done that better, when is it time to give up, etc. I have these lovely thoughts through my head all day long. My to do list is constantly running through my head…get more rabbit hay from the garage, put away clothes, do homework, get my car serviced, etc. I keep waiting for my life to really start. Yes, I have been on the 3rd rock from the sun for about 25 years now but I just don’t feel like anything has really started.. The main issue is that I have been at school since Sept ’03 and I am not done yet. I keep telling myself that things will be different once I am done…. I will get more sleep, I won’t be so forgetful, I will have more time to scrapbook, I will get to the gym more, our apartment will be really clean, etc. I just have to remind myself that I will be done with classes in 10 weeks and I walk in May.

In the mean time I scrapbook when I can and make a horrible mess while doing it 🙂

A Sweet 24th Birthday

October 6, 2009

I just scrapbooked a few of the pictures related to my 24th birthday. I have a few more to go but at least it is started. Only 9 1/2 months later….

I loved the color pallet of the background paper. It was neutral so it let the colors in the photos pop.

When Emily and I went to the Sand Sculpture event in July I snapped a picture of our relaxed feet. I love flip flop tans.

Products: Papers, vellum, button, rub-ons, eyelets, and border punch are from Stampin’ Up!, I used Cricut cartridges to cut out the letters.

Mini Book- 4th of July

September 7, 2009

I have been on a mini book crazy lately. First with Kaylie’s 4th Birthday Book and now one for the 4th of July, and I have others planned!

I did not take to many photos at the 4th… too busy falling asleep on the front of the boat while laying out! So when I came across a mini book kit for $1 at Michaels I knew that it would work perfectly. This is similar to what I got.

I first started by painting all chip board pieces- red, white and blue, of course! I added some lettering that I cut out with my Cricut and some rub-ons from SU! Then I sponged all pieces with Sahara Sand classic ink from SU! to distress the book a bit. (I liked it on the White pieces the most- not as impressive on the red & blue)

I used Maggie Holmes’  photoshop actions to edit my photos. I love her actions because they are so easy to use and have a great outcome.

Then assembly, emblishments, and journaling!

Birthday Mini Book

August 26, 2009

I created a mini scrapbook album for a co-worker’s daughter’s 4th birthday. I love to capture kid’s personalities when they are young so you can see if they change. Or in the case of Kaylie, if she stays SASSY!

 IMG_7043

Most of the supplies were from Stampin’ Up. I used their chipboard pieces to create the front and back cover. I then painted them, added thickers letters, and SU! stickers to the cover. I covered both covers in Mod Podge to prevent any chipping of paint or accents coming off.

 IMG_7044

I used a punch to accent every other page in the book to give it some detail. I accented the pages with stickers, rub ones, eyelets, and patterned paper. The last step was to assemble and tie off pieces of ribbon on the rings.

Before I gave it to Kellie I had her journal in it. I saved spaces to allow for her to write things down about the day.

The funniest picture of the day! I asked Kaylie if I could take her picture and she stuck a pose!

Time flies by

July 30, 2009

I can’t believe it has been a year since our last visits to New Hampshire and Maine. I am afraid we won’t make it to Deer Isle this summer but we have our NH trip scheduled for two weeks from now.  Last year’s attempts at kayaking on the Saco River were foiled by too much rain (made the river too fast) so this year we figure not to even try since we have had the wettest June on Record here and July has not been so great either. So we are sticking to kayaking on a lake in the White Mountains. It will give me the perfect chance to take some great pictures… for scrapbooking. Big surprise there.

The flume 1

the flume 2

Anyone in the White Mountains should see The Flume Gorge and go on the Kancamagus Highway. The Kanc is 32 miles of winding road through the White Mountain Natioanl Forest. A must see in the fall!

Or take a trip to Deer Isle when in Maine. Its sorta in the middle of no-where but it is just amazing. We specifically stay on Sunshine. How can you not enjoying a relaxing time on a place called Sunshine?  Plus it is where Price’s mom grew up so it is fun to hear all her stories about life growing up there.

Trash to Treasure

When in Deer Isle head over to Nervous Nellies Jams and Jellies. They have the best jams and jellies! Last year we stocked up and got a case. Their Hot Pepper Jellie is just fantastic! In addition to the jellies you can check out Peter Beerits‘ sculptures on the property. You have not been to Deer Isle until you have seen a dragon made out of ‘junk’.

Supplies:

‘The Flume’ Page- Stampin’ Up! Paper, felt flowers, and brads

‘1 Man’s Trash’ Page- Stampin Up! Paper, HamblyStamped Alphabet rub-ons, Halfway Cafe Diecuts from Cosmo Cricut, and Glitter Mist from Tattered Angels

Kick back, relax, and scrapbook

July 20, 2009

I organize a Scrapbooking Meetup so that I can have people over to scrapbook. Its great being able to share my stamps and tools with people, esp since I have sooo many stamps!!

Well, I was in slow mo all day and did not get much done. At least I have planned for what I will be doing next…. GREECE!!!

IMG_2800_A

Supplies I used:

Paper and brads- Stampin’ Up!, Tags and accents- Halfway Cafe Diecuts from Cosmo Cricket, Rub ons- Hambly’s Stamped Alphabet, Flowers from a Portafolia Gifted Memories kit.

I love everything that I use to scrapbook but since I am a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I can be biased. Great stuff!
