snap another pic 366!

January 12, 2012

This will be my 3rd year doing Project 365. I have missed a few days here or there but for the most part I have snapped a daily photo. I feel good about sticking with anytime for that long since I have the attention spa…

I have been HORRIBLE about uploading them to Shuttercal, the online service that I use to keep track of all my photos. I store them in monthly photos and name them by date but the uploading part is lost on me. whoops!I’m hoping to take the time every week or so and do a batch upload so it is much more managable than doing 3 months at a time. Fingers crossed!

Here is the start of 2012:

120101

bang bang shrimp! Saw this on Amanda’s blog and had been meaning to make this for months. I would def make these again! We are talking about making chicken tenders the same way.

120102

our 7 year anniversary! Pricer made us a dutch pancake using a recipe from a cookbook that Chase and Heather gave us and a iron skillet that Elaine gave us. Great start to a relaxing day!

120103

pricer is starting p90x today. he did the fitness test and did his measurements. Looking forward to his progress and my own participation in it.

120104

my first Celtics game!!!!!!!!!
They played the Nets and won! Sad that Kris Humphries was not playing! ha!

120105

first monthly date night!
I surprised Price with a basics ballroom dance class at BCAE. I was nervous but it ended up being a lot of fun!

120106

dumplings with Em at Dumpling Cafe

120107

Studio Calico kit! Of course I didn’t order a new glue refill and it my old one ran out. booo! Can’t wait for next month already!

120108

our fatties! Love how Jack was laying out!

120109

new pillows that I picked up from Crate and Barrel yesterday that I love. Love getting finishing touches for the apartment.

120110

well yeah… I love working with STI. ha!

120111

up way too early!!!! long day but it was worth it to start to catch up with work and go over the layout on site as issues came up.

120112

day off! did 40 hours in 3 days. ouch! but I loved getting to sleep in until 9.30 and plan out how I will organize things for the party on Saturday.

Are you doing Project 365? Are you using Shuttercal? Or are you doing Project Life? I would love to do that one day. Share your links with me! I signed up for a class at Studio Calico that you should check out to keep you inspired.

Lucky No. 7

January 3, 2012

Yesterday was our 7th year anniversary of officially dating!!

It was a nice day with both of us having it off from work. We got to sleep in and enjoy the day. I got us coffees while Pricer got to work on making a duch pancake in the new cast iron we got for Christmas.

Needless to say it was so good.

The rest of the day was mellow and nice with moments to adore the rabbits while the doozed, taking our own nap, we hung up a light, I did some scrapbooking, and price was awesome (as always) cleaning up and reorganizing the computer set up.

We made dinner together- lighten chicken parm. It was a good intro into a new healthy living/eating we will be doing for the new year.

The day was ridiculously low key, but absolutely perfect.

__________

6th anniversary- we were in Montreal celebrating NYE and our anniversary

5th anniversary- made these amazing bacon-chocolate chip waffles

the big G holiday party

December 17, 2011

Last Wednesday night we had our annual holiday party. We ventured over from Beantown to Catalyst in Cambridge. Thank gawd it was not snowing since there was no way I was going to do that… the Charles is like the Berlin wall- just something I don’t cross since getting home in Newton from there is a P.I.T.A. Back the the party recap…

I am have become the unofficial event photographer for our office. I think it’s the scrapbooker in me… must document everything! So I started off by bee-lining it to the center table to snap some food pictures before us vultures descended upon the nosh.

Us. I wish I had a picture of my outfit. I was actually happy with it for once. I wore a shear top (with a tank underneath thankyouverymuch) that had sequin blooms on it, a tan skirt, black tights, and my gold sparkly heels.

Once we got settled checking our coats and getting drinks, I got to snapping pictures. As one of the waiters offered me a quiche, I took a picture before I took one. He loved that so he offered to bring me all the trays before passing them out. He was sooo sweet to offer to do that… food blogging dream.

Plus, one of the great things associated with the staff bringing me the trays out to me first was that our table was able to get one of everything before missing out on something.

We had a great time there catching up with everyone, enjoying great food, and throwing back some drinks.

David, our in house reproduction guy, is on the right. We are Giants fans so we discuss their games afterwards when we see each other in the morning. Plus he gets the NY Post every day and shows me weird news articles, or he will show me crazy videos he sees online . Most often I correct the grammar of the people in such videos, so he thinks I’m insane for talking to the computer. Great times.

Admin group photo.

The 4 principals in our office.

It was such a great night out. The servers were patient with us since we stayed later than expected but it was just because we were having such a great time there. Eventually, we moved out to the bar and restaurant. Price and I didn’t stick around too long since I had a little nail polish bottle in bag explosion and I basically stunk up the place. Of course… it had to be me! And it was my NEW matte finisher that I had not gotten to use yet since I didn’t have a chance to do my nails at lunch. whomp whomp!

Our next party is in June. Can’t wait!

Hands full

November 19, 2011

We are visiting Price’s family this weekend for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. We hung out with his nephews since this morning when we went to watch Addison ‘play hockey’ (skate around) until we finished dessert. So that is why I could pass out by 7pm. Turkey and 2 cute little boys equals exhaustion.

11×6

November 12, 2011

11.11.11 came and went. We survived. At work an email went out about doing 11 jumping jacks at 11.11am.

Thus…

Did you document 11.11 on 11.11.11?

565 Days

September 13, 2011

give or take

what’s the countdown?

how many more projected days for this project.

let’s hope that I can avoid hitting one of the office cleaning ladies with the (solid) side door as she comes in and I go out (for a pee break… TMI) in that period of time. I shrieked, she laughed nervously.

Experiencing that precious moment once is more than enough.

Owling

August 16, 2011

The post in which I show photos of Price owling… AKA the day I embarrass Price (more than normal)

First there was planking, then owling, now even bating. I have even heard of people posting horseman style photos on the interwebs. So I guess we are behind the game. Just glad that we didn’t lay on some dirty floor/bench/fence in the name of planking.

We first heard about owling from my brother and his fiancée a few weeks ago when they showed us pictures of Laura doing it on the boat. We cracked up at them, esp at the one of her jumping into the water while holding that position. Pretty impressive work on both Laura & TJ’s part for doing the jump and getting the photo.

Prior to going to Maine we talked about doing an owling or bating photo. Owling obviously is a tad but easier so that was that is what we ended with. And how Price and I ended cracking ourselves up on the last night there.

Yeah, yeah yeah, your feet tech need to be flat. Whatever, we were just cracking up so much to really care.

Happy Tuesday!

Home to Train to Home

July 8, 2011

Besides the fact that moving has brought us a lot more natural light, it gave us some natural beauty to look at too. Our walk home before was limited to yew hedges and few flowers. Now our 2 block walk is filled with a lot of bright flowers. So since we have moved, I have been snapping shots of the flowers with my iphone.

-at our new favorite sushi place-

-across from the  Newton Highlands T stop-

-from a hanging basket at a store at the corner-

-The yard that these flowers are in is really taken care of and is stunning-

-My favorite flower-

All of this makes me love Newton Highlands even more. I enjoy the display of flowers that town puts out, as well as local shop-owners and the residents on our street. The best is that these are only the flowers on the direct walk to and from the T station. There are so many other beautiful things to look at in the surrounding area.

Lenka: Just enjoy the show

July 1, 2011

On Wednesday night, Price and I went to see Lenka perform at Cafe 939. I have been a fan of Lenka since coming across her first album “The Show” (2008).  So when I heard she was coming out with a new album and then touring I was ready to buy tickets as soon as they went on sale.

Lenka put on a fantastic show. There was a wide mix of songs from both her first album and the latest one, “Two”. I loved the personality she put into her performance. There was a lot of gestural storytelling to go along with the lyrics that added a lot of fun to the show. Plus she threw out candy at the beginning of the show since there is no alcohol served at Cafe 939, so if you can’t be buzzed, you might as well have a sugar high.

The majority of the people that I told that I was going to see Lenka responded with “who?” but as soon as I sent them a link to “The Show” they knew who I was talking about. So now that I have been putting the pieces together, go out and get her CD’s. Trust me, you’ll enjoy them.

PS- Ever so randomly, Price told me on Thursday night that Lenka is 33. okayyyy… “did you look it up?” “yes, I thought she was like 18.”

PPS- This was my 6th concert of the year. My goal was 5. I am on a roll!!!

Summer Solstice

June 22, 2011

Being that yesterday was the ‘longest’ day of the year, Price and I decided to go out for a walk to soak up all the sun. I suggested that we check out Hammond Pond Reservation since it was close by and it seemed large enough for us to wander around without doing loops, like the reservoir.

Another reason I suggested going there was that it could give me a chance to play around with my NEW camera. I picked up a Nikon DSLR D3100 because my point and shoot is dying and I wanted to be able to take some better pictures than what that camera offered. So thanks to my Big G bonus and a target sale I picked up my first DSLR camera!

So we wandered around the area and snapped photos here and there. This is when I noticed that I got some bleach on my pants. awesome.

I wanted to stay and take more pictures of this Mountain Laurel but we were both dumb and didn’t put on any bug spray.  I felt like I was honing my cat like reflexes smacking them off my arms, legs and face.

I’m hoping to come back to the pond mid day on a weekend so see all the lilies in bloom.

Great first day of summer
