Project Life 2013: Week 4

March 6, 2013

PL 2013- Week 4_Full Spread

So I am addicted to Pinterest and pinning different Project Life spreads for inspiration. I love getting to see what other people do for their spreads and how they embellish their cards, esp if they are not using a kit. And now I’ve been on the lookout for some cute free printables. I really like the kits that are available but I just have too much stuff to buy more stuff, you know in addition to the Studio Calico kit I get every month. ugh, pretty paper addiction!
Check out what I have been pinning: My Project Life Board

Oh, you don’t document your love of bacon, egg, and cheeses? Whatever, so good. They make me happy so I wanted it in the book. And of course I had to take a picture of the candles I bought with the giftcard for my birthday from my newphews. Slatkin candles are my favorite!

Week 4, Right Side:

PL 2013- Week 4_Right Side

Pretty earrings, poker winnings, a parking ticket, and puppy time! I’ll take all that good for some bad… seriouly, I hate parking tickets!!! Esp $75 ones. At least when I look back at this I will be reminded about how we were dumb and didn’t realize that the great parking spot available was a loading zone. duh!!!

PL 2013- Week 3_Full Spread

I have totally been loving Project Life this year. I am not very far behind- just behind on posting- so everyhting is fresh and new for me to keep up with. Plus I have really been trying to make a point of having fun things in there and to do more to jazz up the cards. It is taking more time than last year but I have been enjoying the process.

So without further ado…

Week 3, Left Side:

PL 2013- Week 3_Left Side

When I was jsut taking the picture of the layout I realized that the ingauration photo was actually from 2009 since Sasha was standing on the box & then I noticed the coats. Thanks Google, so helpful that this is one of the to images for the search ‘Obama Ingauration Day 2013’. Well, I have the correct picture ready to print to I’ll make that swap!

Week 3, Right Side:

PL 2013- Week 3_Right Side

This was the week of my birthday, so this half of the page is focused on documenting that. I put in part of the card from my mom in the lower left pocket. The cupcake in the upper left pocket is from my coworker and behind is some journaling that is hidden. It was kinda really bitchy so I didn’t want that to be the focus of the page so I purposefully hid it. Just glad that this allows me to document lifes up’s and down’s.

Stay tuned for Week 4 tomorrow! 🙂

Project Life 2013: Week 2

February 9, 2013

project life 2013_week 2_full

So it’s snowing. In fact there is a lot of snow coming down now. Nemo has set up shop here and is dumping a ton of snow on us. A TON OF SNOW.

The best thing about the snow is getting to stay in and scrapbook. I’ve really been enjoying standing at my desk pulling out different papers and embellishments working on Project Life and creating new layouts. Unforgettably I did not plan well and have no photos. Crazy right!?!?

Well, either way. Lots of scrapbooking and baking going on this weekend and I love it.

This 2 page layout for Week 2 was fun to put together. Well, everything Project Life related is great but this was really great because I took some more time to create some more embellished inserts.

Project Life 2013: Cover and Week 1

January 16, 2013

PL 2013_Cover

I reworked my scrapbooking set up recently and it has really inspired me to get back to what I love doing. Clearing off my space and unearthing some really great embellishments, papers and stamps has really got me pumped. For example, I bought a stamp set from Studio Calico right before me moved. I could not find it afterwards so I figured it was an accidental casualty in the big clean when we moved. Well when I found it I did a little dance. I can’t wait to get to use it!!!

I really wish that this past week was not so freaking crazy otherwise I would have gotten both weeks 1 and 2 done in Project Life but at least I got week 1 done and I have quiet a bit of week 2 done. So excited to feel great about taking the time to scrapbook, even if it’s a few minutes each day.

Project Life 2012: Weeks 9 + 10

April 6, 2012

So Project Life has taken a bit of a back seat to REAL LIFE. Things have been so hectic since we put an offer on a place on the 25th. It was countered and we accepted that and then things started to get a little crazy. We had our inspection on Tuesday the 27th, the appriasal was on the 30th, and we signed the P&S documents last night. crazy!!!

I enjoyed this past week since I was able to play around with Project Life a bit more. I’ve been relishing the fact that I got to trim fun paper, not filling out papers with our info. Slipping photos and paper into the page protector pockets… pure bliss. I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I fill a pocket.

So real life is taking us to CT this weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing family and having more fun things to add to Project Life!!

Project Life 2012: Week 8

March 15, 2012

I’m in a mad dash at this point to catch up with Project Life.

I took today off from work because our dishwasher has to get repaired and the service window was 10-1. Since that kills getting into work, back home, then back to work, I figured taking the day off would be best. Plus, I am going to a book signing tonight for the new release of The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Food from My Frontier.Yes, that means I get to see Ree tonight! Now, I can’t wait to add that to Project Life! Perfection!!!

I spent today working on 3 weeks of PL. I’ll be finishing those weeks soon when I finish them off but for now this post is all about Week 8 (2.19-25). It was such a busy week that had some great moments in there like an Ingrid Michaelson show, a town hall meeting, lots of wine, and a great date night. I actually had Pricer write up some stuff to incorporate his thoughts and I know I will have to do that more often since this is about our ‘adventures’ just as much as it is about my day to day stuff.

Project Life 2012: week 7

March 4, 2012

I felt a bit rushed putting this week together since I’m falling a bit behind. I am making it high priority to get week 8 and 9 done this week… umm yeah, I’ll fit that in while looking at a house, concert, rep dinner, cookbook release party, dinner out… I really have something planned for every night this week. It makes for fun PL documentation but it can make me fall behind. Oh the juggling act!!

Week 7:

Left Side

I like the butterfly embellishment because I first took a piece of patterned cardstock, stamped over it, add dimensionals to the butterfly, put the brad in the middle and then put it on the stamped paper.

Right Side:

The letter circles on the central journaling box are cute hole reinforcements for binders that I picked up at the Container Store. They came in a ‘carnival theme‘. Well as cute as they are I am do down right pissed about them. I peeled them off their backing and put them on my edge of my desk to grab easily once I had the cardstock trimmed. I do this for my Thickers as well to plan but thickers are nice sweet alphas that don’t rip the laminate off my perfectly fine Ikea desk like this little SOB’s did. So take my advice and don’t stick them on anything but paper!

Project Life 2012: Week 6

February 26, 2012

Oh week 6 of 2012… I loved you so much! So many fantastic things happened! First off I took a cheese making class, then I watch the Giants beat the Patriots (AGAIN!) at the Super Bowl, and heading down to CT to go into NYC to see the parade. At that was just Sunday- Tuesday!

One of the thoughtful things I captured was that Price left a Cadbury Creme Egg in my coat pocket and I discovered it on my way to work. I think moments like that are often overlooked but they really matter. At least they do to me. So that is why I am glad to be doing PL so I could capture that sweet gesture.

Week 6:

Full Spread

Not sure if I am going to add more photos from the parade on the back side of the 6×12. I keep debating it. We’ll see how I feel looking back at it in another week.

Left Side

One of the things I like most about getting up really early for work has been seeing the sunsets. I didn’t so much for adorning that photo besides some alphas and the patterned paper but I love it’s presence on the page.

Right Side

I enjoyed playing with the pattern of the paper for my journaling. It made that 2×3 piece of paper a lot more fun.

Project Life 2012: Week 5

February 20, 2012

Oh thank you so much Presidents Day! With the extra day off I was able to actually get some scrapbooking in. I was able to do Project Life for Week 5, most of Week 6, and half of week 7. Woohoo!!!

Week 5 was filled with some quality time with my brother and sister, cupcakes, a spiffy new Starbucks Gold card, movie viewing, and being horribly sick. I actually approached the day that I stayed home with ‘sweet, I feel like shit but at least I can scrapbook’ by my body had other plans and I laid on the sofa ALL day. no lie. Clearly I needed the time for my body to recover from the nastiness that was inhabiting my body but it was so disappointing that I didn’t even get to utilize my day off with some fun.

I think my favorite thing about the week is the old timey telephone sticker that I have on the left side page. I wish I could say I strategically put it there but no, I was just tired of journaling so I copped out and decided to put the sticker there so I would not have to write anything in that 3×4 rectangle. In case you were wondering it was going to be about my Monday night being great with picking up a new pair of shoes and having dinner out with Price. I think the phone works just fine instead.

Project Life 2012: Week 4

February 12, 2012

I am head over heels in love with Project Life.

I have been so busy at work that getting to work on PL has been getting pushed aside a bit but I’m determined to work on it a bit more this week. I am constantly thinking about taking photos, which ones to print, and what size. Plus I think about what goodies can I slip into those pockets. What shall I journal? I can’t see myself getting bored.

Project Life 2012- Weeks 1-3

January 27, 2012

I had been hearing about Project Life all over the internet. I was not sure if I should do try to take that on this year. What does a 20-something who works on average 45 hours a week document? What does one who spends most of her time at work do? No kids to snap photos of. Don’t often travel.

But I had to stop thinking of the things I didn’t do and to think about all the things that I had the opportunity to snap pictures of and document. This is my 3rd year doing Project 365 so clearly I can take a photo every day (well, almost every day), so I decided to stretch myself a bit and dive into Project Life for 2012. I see plenty of Boston, I have interesting things going on at work, I go to fun events, I eat out at too many places… so many possibilities

I didn’t go with the typical Project Life path in that I didn’t buy a kit. While the Project Life kits are fantastic, I decided to just buy Photo Pocket Pages – Design F, Photo Pocket Pages – Design B, and Photo Pocket Pages – Design E. I was inspired by Kelly Purkey’s Project Life post she did for her first 2 weeks. It didn’t scream kit to me. I love how things match when they are all from the same release or from a kit but life it not all that matchy matchy so I skipped the cards that typically go in the page protectors. And so I dived right in!

It’s not too late to join! Or you can even hold off until your birthday and do a Project Life from birthday to birthday. Or you can start at the birth of a child. Or when you get married to document your first year of married life. Oh the possibilities!
