Raising Our Little Global Citizens

July 10, 2018

Little Global Citizens is a new subscription kit that is geared to kids 3-7 that teaches them about a new country every month. There are crafts, toys, and books to help teach them about the culture in the country that is featured that month.

Raising kids who are creative, compassionate, cultured, and inquisitive is a really important thing for my husband and me. Our kids are the future.

We have always made learning a priority so we are always looking at fun ways to do that. Like, going to the aquarium or the zoo from a young age, and regularly, has been a fun way at incorporation learning into a fun family activity. We have had different memberships to different places, like New England Aquarium, when we lived in Boston, to now having a membership to Glazer Children’s Museum, here in Tampa. They provide different, fun ways for the kids to learn and be active. Exposing them to different exhibits gives them a chance to learn and create fun memories while playing.

Cake Doughnut Bread Pudding

July 1, 2018

This Cake Doughnut Bread Pudding is the best way to bring new life to some old doughnuts. The sugary top has a nice crunch for the perfect bite.

We have bikes!!!!

Well, I had a bike before, that I got earlier this spring off our community Facebook “For Sale” group. A blue cruise with a cup holder, where I stash our garage door opening and my phone when Autumn and I go bike riding.

Lemony Pasta Salad with Artichokes and Chickpeas

June 27, 2018

This vegetarian pasta salad comes together quickly but that speed doesn’t mean it’s lacking flavor. It’s full of flavor from lemony dressing and the vegetables and cheese. You’ll be hooked on this Lemony Pasta Salad with Artichokes and Chickpeas.

I know summer just started, but it has felt like summer has been going on for the past few months because it’s so damn hot here in Florida.

There are days when I feel like I am melting, but I really do love it.

Our Saint Petersburg Mural Walk

June 27, 2018

There are endless fun things to do in Tampa Bay. Going on a Saint Petersburg Mural walk is a fun way to see creative, colorful work by awesome artists.

I love exploring where we live!

Florida is such a great place that has so many activities for everyone of all ages. It feels like we are never more an an hour from some awesome activity, like the beach. a museum, zoo, or theme park. But even then, just strolling around town is so much fun!

We recently loaded up the kids and the dogs to head over to Saint Petersburg (aka St. Pete), about a 45 minute drive from where we live, for a fun afternoon of walking around to check out the beautiful murals that are all over the arts district.

I told Autumn that we were going on a “Saint Petersburg Mural Walk” to get to see different pictures on walls. At that point it was a good reminder to tell her that artists got permission to create art on the buildings, and that it’s not okay to just color on the walls. HAHAHA!

Strawberry Chocolate Chip Muffins

June 24, 2018

I love any excuse to enjoy some chocolate at breakfast, so these Strawberry Chocolate Chip Muffins are the perfect breakfast when you are on the go. Or you can enjoy it as an afternoon snack with a cup of tea or coffee. You won’t be able to resist these fresh strawberries and bits of chocolate in these muffins.

Rise and Shine!!!!

I swear the whenever I think that I am going to get the chance to sleep in, it seems like I am up earlier than ever. If it’s not from a kid waking me up with some demand (food or boob), it’s something so ridiculous like some loud crane yelling from a roof top, or I just wake up early AF and can’t go back to sleep.

It’s always something…

The Week in Rewind #24

June 18, 2018

06.11.18-06.17.18

I think this year is on warp speed. It all is just flying by sooo quickly!

I like to try to knock out our errands for the week on Monday, so it feels like we are tackling a lot of things and then we are free to have lots of fun. So, we ran around a bit to get some wipes of HHunter, get a gift, go grocery shopping, and get the dogs more dog food. And then we were free for more awesome stuff like Tea Parties.

Autumn had been talking about having a tea party for a week and that is needed REAL flowers, so they were on our list and once we had them… time for tea. But really just getting to sit down and chat while drinking water and snacking on some things like blueberries and grape tomatoes. It was just so fun that we had that moment together.

Thank goodness Monday was so great because Tuesday was rough.

When do kids listen to instructions? Because I need that to happen now.

I’m not talking about the now “get your shoes on” crap. I’m talking about instructions for activities. “Put the beads on the string for the necklace, then wait for me.” Errr, wrong. I’m going to discover the beads are on the string that is now cut into 3 pieces and the piece with the beads is glued to a piece of paper. Ultimately, the beaded pieces of string were going to get adhered to the piece of paper, but wtf… just listen.

Send help.

Wednesday was back to normal, or more routine.

We went on a walk in the morning and then we went to the pool in the afternoon.

Plus, it was our 3rd year wedding anniversary.

Price had to work in Orlando for most of the day, so he didn’t get home until after 9, which was a bummer since I really wanted to have sushi for dinner and the place closed at 9. whomp whomp.

But we chilled on the couch and ate some leftover cake. I guess that is how you do a mid week anniversary with big projects and kids.

On Thursday, I decided to treat Autumn to a Ken doll because she kept making Anna (from Frozen) the Dad when playing with her dolls. We went to Target to pick up a Ken doll

Then we stuffed ourselves silly with Chinese food from Lee House since the Olive Garden had a 25 minute wait. Ummm, no. I’m not waiting for the Olive Garden. Ever.

The biggest thing going on in our house right now is that our TV’s “broke.”

Oh no, the only channel that works now is PBS Kids. Too bad “Shimmer and Shine” and “Paw Patrol” aren’t working. I just couldn’t take any more genies or arguments for more Paw Patrol or whatever. Now, we have lots of educational shows and less annoying sparkle sounds. I swear that sparkle has a sound. ugh.

Maybe we need to send our TV’s to Santa, so he can fix them along with the tablet. ha!!!!

Friday was a big day for Price since it was Bonus Day at work. While he went out the office to go bowling, I took the kids to Wine Down. I had the most amazing burger from a food truck that came. Holy smokes!

While the burger was really good, the best part of the night was that I got to relax in the tub. Ah, soaking my worries away with a good book. My perfect kind of Friday night.

I went to a my friend’s surprise 30th birthday party on Saturday night. It was great to be there and to celebrate her and our other friend’s birthday. So fun!

The food was just as incredible as the company. Watching my budget, I went with the cheapest thing (which was still $19!). Two burgers in 2 days was not intended, but they were both so good, so worth my tight jeans.

And then Sunday was Father’s Day!!!

We went to the pool at my dad’s community, as our big pool is not yet ready. And, going on a slide is a must.

Afterwards, I ran around to the grocery store for stuff for dinner and Price mowed. Ah, even on Father’s Day, there are chores.

At least we all got to relax at night so that we could enjoy some grilled pizza when my dad came over.

The kids went to bed, we cleaned up, and then I got to work!!! Ah, 1am comes way up way too quick.

It was a great week.

Happy Father’s Day 2018

June 17, 2018

Spending the day with family playing around at the pool and then enjoying grilled pizza dinner is a fantastic way to celebrate Father’s Day. It certainly was a Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day!!!

Autumn, Hunter, and I are thankful for you each and every day.

We are thankful for all of the support and silly jokes. Thankful for taking the time reading an extra story at bedtime snuggles and playing around in the pool. Thankful for going on walks and sneaking in an extra show before bed time. We are thankful for everything you do.

The kids love you for your ability to make them have fun, feel heard, and feel safe.

I love you for all of that, and for the moments that I stumble upon when you are Autumn are joking around, or when you are taking a little snooze with Hunter. Those moments are the best.

Glad we were able to enjoy the day at the pool and then our delicious grilled pizza. Anything and everything we do with you is great.
